About Redpoint Studio

Who we are.

Redpoint Studio is a design and consulting practice focused on artificial terrain and movement-driven environments. We specialize in climbing walls, sculpted rockwork, and custom terrain systems for indoor and outdoor projects.

Our work sits between experience design and technical execution. We help project teams define clear design intent, resolve complex interfaces, and support decisions that hold up through pricing, construction, and long-term use.

Redpoint operates independently of fabrication and installation. This allows us to work objectively alongside owners, architects, engineers, and installers, without conflicts of interest or pressure to steer projects toward a particular build approach.

  • We are typically engaged where clarity matters most: early planning, complex coordination, and moments where design, structure, cost, and operations intersect.

Rather than producing full construction document sets, we focus on establishing buildable intent, supporting coordination, and helping teams avoid rework downstream. Our role adapts to the needs of each project, whether that means early consulting, targeted technical development, or ongoing collaboration.

  • We work with a range of clients and collaborators, including:

    • Owners and operators

    • Architecture and engineering firms

    • Installers and specialty contractors

    • Public agencies and institutions

Across all engagements, our goal is the same: to help teams deliver environments that are engaging, durable, and practical to build and operate.

  • Clients work with Redpoint for:

    • Clear communication

    • Thoughtful, experience-driven design

    • Strong technical judgment

    • Efficient coordination across disciplines

Our services are intentionally scoped to provide value without unnecessary overhead or duplication of effort.

Redpoint exists to reduce risk and uncertainty in the design and delivery of artificial terrain and movement environments. We bring discipline, coordination rigor, and buildable clarity to projects that are often ambiguous and poorly articulated.

Our Team

Jason Thomas

Founder & Principal

Jason is the founder of Redpoint Studio and leads all design, consulting, and technical work. His background spans artificial terrain design, climbing walls, and complex outdoor environments, with a focus on projects where experience, structure, and constructability intersect. Jason works closely with owners, architects, engineers, and installers to establish clear intent and support buildable outcomes.

Michael Stahl

Design & Project Support

Mike supports Redpoint’s design and project coordination efforts, contributing to modeling, documentation, and internal development. His role helps bridge conceptual design and technical execution, supporting the studio’s work across a range of project types and scales.

Mira Lammers

Operations & Project Manager

Mira manages Redpoint Studio’s project operations, coordination, and research. She supports active projects by organizing schedules, tracking deliverables, coordinating communication with project teams, and conducting background research to inform planning and decision-making. Her role ensures that design and consulting work is well-coordinated, efficient, and delivered consistently across projects.

1Climb Partnership

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a passion you want to share with the world. Kevin Jorgensen has a dream to introduce 100,000 kids to the rewards of climbing.

UIAA World Cup Ice Climbing Wall

To pull this off, we had to create an entirely new climbing wall system that could be installed in less than three days and removed in a single day. The result was astounding.

Over the two-day competition, more than 24,000 spectators attended, with 10,000 watching the lead finals. The vertical ice remained rock-solid, without a hint of movement, and the massive arch held firm, even as the winner of the men’s lead competition climbed out onto the iconic ‘rhino horn’ and leapt from the structure in his final dismount. This video captures the experience of the competitors and spectators alike.
